Wordsower Africa believes the Bible is the inspired, authoritative word of God. It is inerrant, infallible, truthful and complete in its present form and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds and opinions should be tried (II Timothy 3:16, Romans 1:20).
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Acts 2:32-33).
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His atoning death through His shed blood on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that Jesus died for our sins (1 Corinthian 15:3) and Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (Eph 2:8-10). We are not saved by works done righteously but by His mercy He saved us by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit and we must make a confession of faith in Jesus as Lord and believe in our hearts that he was raised from the dead if we are to obtain His salvation (Titus 3:5 & Romans 10:9-10).
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and His indwelling enables us to live a godly life (Acts 1:5).
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment (1Cor 15:51-57, Rev 20:11-15).
It is clear that faith without works is dead (James 2:26). Therefore, believers will be a living testimony to the work of Jesus Christ through prayer, service to our Lord and sharing the message of salvation with the lost (Matthew 28:16-20, Romans 10:9-15). For I know that He who started this work in me will see it through (Philippians 1:6).
We believe God created man and woman as unique biological persons made to complete each other. We believe God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male to one genetic female (Gen 2:24, 1 Cor 6:9, Mark 10:6-9).
We believe human life is sacred from conception to its natural end and that we must have concern for physical and spiritual needs of our fellow man (Psalm 139:13, Matt 22:37-39).
