HUGE PRAISE!!!

We are celebrating and dancing!

Wordsower Africa is a hub that trains and sends indigenous missionary teams into unreached tribes in West Africa. Currently we have 6 teams living and ministering to over a dozen unreached tribes; 3 teams are in Liberia, 1 team in Sierra Leone, 1 team in Ivory Coast and 1 team in Guinea. We received a donation to completely establish a new base in Sierra Leone and the cost to operate it for a year. We have already purchased a bike and sent a team into an area of three unreached tribes; The Fulbe tribe has no known Christians, Kuranko tribe has no known evangelical Christians, and the Eastern Maninka have about 13 Christians per 1,000 people.1

For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 13:47

Too Many Bike Accidents

In the last few weeks, we have had several bad accidents that have caused injuries. One was knocked unconscious, two had broken clavicles (collar bones), two had injuries to their chests and are now coughing up blood, facial injuries, and knee injuries that will leave scars. Blood, scars and broken bones are not uncommon. Always one or more of our field leaders, who go on mission, are in pain and limping around our base.

I think of those morning talk show hosts that expose their flawless legs. Such celebrities have insured their legs for as much as 2 million dollars. Romans 10:14-15 says, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” The world’s definition of beautiful legs and God’s definition are not the same. I’m sure every one of our women, who go on mission, have scared legs. 2 million dollars is a fleeting mist that will soon pass away, the temporal. Our Lord is the same, today, tomorrow and for all eternity. He washed His disciples’ feet. Will He do it again in heaven? If so, I want Him to find the scars of sacrifice, love and obedience from feet that brought the good news to the lost and not the flawless beauty of the world’s standard. I grieve and cringe to show the picture below. It is the foot of Adama, a sister that I dearly love. She is one of our beautiful, faithful women mission leaders. She would not be fit to be on Good Morning America. But her scars like money are temporary. Her reward is eternal.

The Pain of Poverty

Yesterday, I was in our yard, in a chair reading. A 7-year-old neighbor girl came up, grabbed a nearby jug, and sat next to me. She laid her head on top of my arm, which was on the arm rest, and was soon snoring and in a deep sleep from exhaustion. I put her in the chair and went to my room. About an hour later, from my window, I saw her picking something off one of our walls that is under construction which is made of dirt brick. I was curious and called her to come. Her hand was full of small clumps of dirt from our wall. She was hungry and eating them. Of course, I emptied her hand and inserted a spoon so we could eat my rice together. The most recent national survey, 2015, stated that 63% of children were not in school. Malaria is currently the largest cause of death and lifesaving treatment is about $3!! Immersed in the pain of poverty, I grieve.

Testimonies from our indigenous missionaries sent into the unreached tribes:

(Our base leaders’ testimonies have been slightly edited)

Have you ever heard the sounds of revival, of a great move of God? These testimonies, the sounds of revival, come from our indigenous missionary teams going into unreached tribes. Villages, within these tribes, in all their history have never had a church and many did not even allow Christians to enter. Through the move of the Holy Spirit, we have been able to penetrate them. The result has been thousands of confessions of faith for salvation and many churches started. Just this month we baptized 325. Our testimonies are beautiful examples of faith, love and sacrifice. They are numerus.

“We were in Zorzor District last week spreading the gospel in some of the churchless towns and villages. We went to a traditional, animistic, town called Baloma where we were invited by a brother called Mr. Pewee for a training. It is a very hard area to reach. He told us that the town has been one of the towns that has been persecuting Christians. He was once stripped naked and flogged for preaching the gospel to them. But the good news is the town has become tired of trying to put a stop to the gospel. We showed the Jesus film on Thursday night over 200 people came to view and 21 persons gave their lives to Christ.”

“We started a church in the former churchless town of Belle Baloumah. The Christians there are going through persecution. The traditional animistic leaders and Islamic leaders have joined together to remove the church from the town if the people refuse to be initiated and join their demonic secret society… This war is ongoing. First it started in Belle Fassama and the government failed to stop the religious persecution. But with Baloumah the tension is very hot. The believers have left the town and have been living in the bush for days. We are praying for the tension to come down. We are continuing to go there to intervene. Even though religious persecution is against the law, the fearful ruling government commissioner is saying it is beyond his ruling and will do nothing to stop it.”

Now this is a beautiful honeymoon!!! These Newlyweds are busy. Right after their wedding they went on mission to a churchless town of the unreached Themne tribe. The testimony: “Soldiers are trained to face the battlefronts. Peter and his wife, Yeanor, are regularly making disciples who make disciples. This morning the Spirit of God led them to the unreached churchless village of Kefey Themne and they baptized 15 people.”

“This year we planted a house church and baptized 100 people in the Islamic unreached churchless village of Kefey. They belong to the unreached Themne tribe. This village is almost entirely surrounded by water. There are wooden bridges linking it to the other nearby villages. We met a Muslim man there, who surprisingly, was requesting for a church building in the village. Why could a Muslim request for a church? Our Lord is doing marvelous and wonderful things… Kefey has a big brown and yellow mosque at the middle of the village. Adjacent of the mosque, is the women’s secret society hut. We taught on the topic, “God is a jealous God.” The women secret society supreme leader was present in our meeting and teaching… The house church is gradually growing, but we yet to have a specific place for worship. Wordsower, we move as led by the Spirit.”

Pray for the Kefey Themne Christians to have a church building. We put up the church roof, the church is responsible for the walls. Typical cost of a church roof is $500-$700.

At the bottom of this report are additional pictures and testimonies.

Additional Testimonies

Take time and read. Listen to the sounds of revival. The sound of a historic move of the Holy Spirit.

Children studying scripture in a town that was formerly churchless.
Another church building being built in a once churchless town.

“Serena District is on fire. We are showing the Jesus film to the mixed unreached tribes including Loko, Limba and Themne people. We have 150 viewers tonight. Wordsower Sierra Leone, Makeni Base, we move as lead by the Holy Spirit.

“The need in Sierra Leone is too much. Today, the newlyweds, Peter and Yeanor, baptized 30 people and one of them said he has been a pastor for over 10 years but didn’t know that a Christian needed to be baptized.”

“As led by God’s Spirit, we invaded Churchless Bendu Community with the gospel. They have one of the biggest mosques in Grand Cape Mount County. They have no church and everyone in the community is practicing Islam. We taught with boldness since yesterday till tonight. The people testified that, Wordsower is the first to enter their town with the gospel of the Jesus film… We have more than 300 viewers of the Jesus film tonight… This afternoon we returned, as led by the Spirit of God, we ministered the gospel in the unreached Churchless Bendu Community with the lesson “God is a jealous God.” After our teaching and sharing the gospel, two persons who were fanatic Muslims were convicted, confessed and accepted Jesus Christ and were baptized.”

“We started with a training, 35 attended. At the end of the training 6 person gave their lives to Christ and were baptized. The traditional, animistic, youth leader said that he was having a problem with one of those that was baptized. We invited him to the training ground and settled the dispute between him and a lady, at the end he too accepted Christ.” James 3:18, “Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.”

“We thank God for WSA. God is working through Wordsower saving our people from the hands of Satan. There are so many traditional towns where, up to now, the gospel has not entered in Lofa County. We pray that God will always direct and keep us safe while when going into these dangerous places for the sake of our lord.”

“He was animistic. The Lord allowed me to get close to him and tell him about Satan and demons and God’s Kingdom. Often, we have been talking. Day before yesterday he visited the base and accepted Christ. He requested and received a pocket Bible.”

“Reaching out to the unreached world. An Islamic leader who serves as city inspector for Bopolu City has been my friend for a time. We talk about Jesus. Yesterday, he also accepted Christ and visited our base. Now, he wants to take us to his town, Medina, for discipleship meetings. Wordsower, we move!”

“Good evening fellow soldiers of the Lord, we went to Gokalla and its surrounding communities, and showed the Jesus film to about 347. We conducted meetings and did a training where 73 people attended.”

“Before we started to show the Jesus film, we did some teaching on the topic, “Life’s Purpose.” We prayed with them and started the show. During the show, because of the teaching about Jesus Christ, the people were prepared to view. We played it in our common Liberian English. Souls were won, to the glory of God. People willingly accepted Jesus Christ and gave their lives to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Attendance was 106 from within this unreached area. 11 persons gave their lives to Jesus Christ, 5 are wanting to be baptized.”

“We were led by the Holy Spirit to the Muslim town of Yosounon. It has a big mosque. We carried out a series of evangelistic missions. We did door to door evangelism, open air preaching and showed the Jesus film. Many came out to see the Jesus film and gave their lives to Christ. As of now, a house church is established and a spot was given to us to build a church building.”

“A team of two has been sent into the unknown, into uncharted waters. We pray that our Lord will lead them to specific unreached churchless villages. Day by day, we send missions into unreached churchless villages to tell them about Jesus. We believe that everybody everywhere needs to hear the gospel, therefore, rain or shine, we must go to make the gospel available to every person for the glory of God. Let’s Go!!!!”

“Makorogbo village church is spiritually growing and our Lord is faithfully guiding us in the process of making the gospel available. We had a great church service yesterday with attendance of 97 people. A 5-year-old boy testified that since the arrival of Christianity, there are great changes and happiness among the villagers.”

“Glory be to God for our training to the unreached town of Ngenga, Klahun District, Lofa County. This place is occupied with three tribes, the Kissi, Gbandi and Mendes. We showed the Jesus film and the next day 28 attended our workshop. 5 persons were touched by the Word of God and they gave their lives to God and were baptized immediately.”

“Our team just arrived from the Guwuwelleh District after almost a week on mission. They visited 10 Towns and hosted discipleship meetings. Our focus is training others to be like us to advance the Kingdom of God. This district is an unreached area, no good roads for bikes. But we were instructed to go all over the world to make disciples. So, we move to the hardest places to reach the lost souls. Many thanks and appreciation to our generals for training our soldiers to be equipped for the battle. We are one team with one purpose.”

Thank you for joining us in prayer and support,
Kim
