Woodside Bible Church and the Global 100

“Entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also. Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.” 2 Timothy 2:2-4

Woodside Bible Church, in the Detroit area, has the vision to raise up and send 100 missionaries from their church. They are serious about seeing this vision accomplished! In May they sent us 2 teams, 8 people total. These Global 100 adherents are praying and seriously seeking our Lord about becoming long term missionaries. I believe that in almost every church there are those our Lord has invited, called, into missions. Every church has the responsibility of helping congregants to search for such a call and assist them in being trained and sent. Wordsower Africa will unite with your church and participate in this process.

The Cost of Obedience

“For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’” Acts 13:47
“Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 2:3

Our teams go! They have phrases that inspire them.

The short, 1 ½ minute video shows how we, commonly, go to the lost in love, faith, and sacrifice. Your financial support allows us to go. United we can bring salvation to the ends of the earth.

Johannes Gutenburg invented a printing press. The first major book that he printed was the Bible. He said, “Through the press God will spread His word. A spring of pure truth shall flow from it; like a new star it shall scatter the darkness of ignorance and cause His light to shine among man.” We have two printing presses operating now. Surely, except for the Bible, we are the most widely distributed publication in Liberia. We print in French and English and distribute in 4 countries. Below is a short 3 ½ minute video of our press team in operation.

Testimonies from our indigenous missionaries sent into the unreached tribes:

Our base leaders’ testimonies have been slightly edited

Testimony from our Indigenous mission team in Sierra Leone:

“Abraham” (name changed), 17 years old, accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior last year in Kumala Town when our team showed the Jesus film. From that day, “Abraham” refused to go to the mosque. His father has threatened him several times to follow him to the mosque for prayers, but Jesus is always in his heart. Last Friday, his father promised to kill him if he didn’t follow him to the Mosque. So, he decided to run away. Hiding in the bushes during the day and walking at night, he finally reached our base in Makeni, a 20-mile journey. Our team took him to the nearby creek and baptized him immediately. The next day he joined one of our teams to go to churchless villages in Koineduge County. His late grandfather was an Iman, and his biological father is an Iman and expects his son to imitate him or replace him as an Iman, but unfortunately for his father, something strange has happened in the family. His one and only son has chosen the best way, Jesus. His father will chase after him to harm him. Therefore, let us be in prayer with Abraham. “Lord in your hands we commit your son, Abraham. No power is greater than you.” … The God of possibilities has done a miraculous work again today. Abraham witnessed to his one and only sister, “Mariyam” (name changed) about Jesus Christ. She believes and confessed Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She was baptized a moment ago alongside another brother. We are moving fearlessly with the gospel.”

“Our cook Mbalu Sesay is seriously committed to going to the lost, evangelizing and making disciples. She went on mission to a churchless village and showed the Jesus film in the local language of the Limba unreached tribe. Attendance was 105, and 2 people confessed Jesus Christ. Early the next morning, they walked down the river and joyfully baptized them. She cooks, we eat, she wins souls for the Lord and heaven rejoices. We are moved as led by the Spirit of God. Everybody everywhere needs to hear the gospel.”

Testimony from our indigenous missionary team in Grand Cape Mount County, Liberia:

“Wordsower, we never stop carrying the gospel! We are in the rainy season. Today we experienced a heavy downpour. But thanks be to God it can’t stop the mission and God’s purposes. We have been working in the town named Sanje Zamaja, in the Tawae District. It is a churchless community of the unreached Vai tribe. Everyone in the town is a Muslim. We could not find any Christians. The town chief, our man of peace, and a Muslim, made the announcement in the community that the Jesus film will be showing today. What amazed us is that, the town chief stopped the Muslim evening prayer, closed the mosque and told the whole community to come and witness the Jesus film. 135, both young and old came out to witness the film. Every living soul must hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Wordsower carries the gospel where others don’t want to go or are afraid to go. We are moving fearlessly as led by the Spirit of God. Be in prayer with us.”
