Unity
“I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” 1 Corinthians 1:10-11
Often there is not enough networking or sharing among ministries. We are one body, united to strengthen and enlarge our Lord’s kingdom. We are not to have division. Denominations often separate and want to spread their name and be exclusive.
The ministry Hope 127, in Liberia, invited us to come and show how we go into towns and villages doing evangelism, discipleship and church planting. So, we sent a team of 2 to them. Our leaders united with their leaders. In 10 days, the newly united team, from both ministries, visited 12 communities and established 1 new church, 20 were baptized, and hundreds made public commitments of faith. At the end of our team’s time with Hope 127, they invited the villages to unite for a training. 123 attended the training and 59 attended the first Sunday service of the new church!!! Every one of these 12 communities are begging Hope 127 to return and assist them in starting churches. Also, one of our trained leaders will leave our ministry to join theirs. It is all about who gets the glory. “let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16. It isn’t about building our kingdom in his name. Jesus said, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10.
Persecution Abounds
Every Muslim that converts to Christianity goes through persecution. The stories are many. Let me tell you about what just happened to Dennis, a Muslim convert, from Sierra Leone. He has gone through serious persecution. Animism, an ancient tribal religion, blends well with Islam. Dennis was an Islamic and Animistic leader of his region and the eldest male of the family. For generations the eldest son of the family carried a ring that that was worn and never to be taken off, except during empowerment rituals. Demonic powers were given to the wearer of the ring. When Dennis converted, and was baptized his family was in an uproar. Serious death threats were made against him. He escaped and came to our main base in Zwedru, Liberia. When Dennis’ family found out that he had removed the ring and that we had destroyed their ancient ring, which had been in the family for generations, they went into a rampage of anger. They now threatened to kill his children that were still in Sierra Leone. So, he contacted his sister to rapidly have them taken to her in Guinea. 15-year-old Joshua, his son, was poisoned by the family and died in transit. The horror, guilt, sorrow of loosing his eldest son has devastated Dennis. Please be in prayer for him and his remaining children.
Jesus said, “For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law — a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’ “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” Matthew 10:35-37.
Suffering and Sacrifice
Pray with us. One of our leaders, Prince, was on bike and had a serious accident. He was in a comma for several days. He has had stitches in his face and head. He is still in the hospital. He now is able to sit up and eat but is still incoherent from his brain injury. Others, this month, have sent bloody pictures of facial, arm and leg wounds. These heroes of the faith, in the world’s eyes, are ordinary, unschooled, poor, nobodies. But so was David, “David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” 1 Samuel 17:45.
Some quotes that remind me of these unknown, unsung heroes are:
- “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.” Joseph Cambell.
- “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” Steve Jobs.
I’m privileged, humbled and inspired to be surrounded by such a cloud of witnesses.
Testimonies from our Indigenous Missionaries sent into the Unreached Tribes:
(Our base leaders’ testimonies have been slightly edited.)
Joesph, one of those providing testimonies, is surprisingly articulate, a poet and songwriter.
“It was powerful tonight, over 100 viewers seeing in the garden of Gethsemane, a silent shadow, a prayer was softly spoken, “Father if You’re willing take this cup from me”, heartbroken. No one can watch the Passion of Christ film without shedding tears. The viewers see Christ bearing the weight of our sins. Betrayed with a kiss in the nights cold embrace. Lead away by those He came to save with grace. Yet, scorned, mocked and sentenced in disgrace. All the viewers were watching and hearing those words. They also saw the suffering of Christ, crowned with thorns, pierced, and upon a rugged cross. “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” With a final breath, “It is accomplished.” After the show a Muslim man came out shedding tears and confessed and accepted Jesus Christ, and he willingly gave his name for baptism on Christmas day, tomorrow.”
“Kadiatu was a fanatic Muslim girl from Sierra Leone, at first, she refused to accept Jesus Christ, but after Joseph, a former Muslim, shared his personal testimony to her, she willingly accepted and confessed Christ. She is now our person of peace. She welcomes us with joy and accepts us into her home to preach Christ.”
“An Imam is a man who leads prayer in a mosque, is a recognized authority on Islamic theology and law and a spiritual guide. As we were teaching in Massa Grone Town, a town in Grand Cape Mount County, Liberia, the Chief Imam came and interrupted my teaching by asking questions about Jesus Christ in the Quran. By the help of the Holy Spirit, I answered him by quoting surah (Scriptures) in the Quran, as many as I could. Everyone, including the Imam, marveled at a Christian knowing the Quran. The Imam asked me how I knew the Quran when I’m a Christian? I told him my testimony, how I was once a Muslim. After the teaching, and my testimony, two of the Imam’s children accepted and confessed Jesus Christ. They willingly gave their names for baptism. We baptized them and one other. The Imam took my phone number and told me to pay a visit to him next week. He said he wanted to know more what the Quran says about Jesus Christ.”
“We projected the Passion show last night in Johnson Farm, a small town in Cape Mounty County, Liberia. 35 persons viewed the Passion of Christ film. We were pausing the show and explaining what was happening. Many of them had sniffles, with tears in their eyes. After the film, 5 people willingly gave their names for baptism, among them was 2 Muslim men from Sierra Leone. We baptized them this morning.”
“The only daughter of the supreme leader of the secret society stood up and asked if baptism is necessary for her? Ezekiel quickly answered and said yes if you believe in Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, you must be baptized. We took her to the river and baptized her joyfully. The supreme leader of the society is unhappy, but heaven is rejoicing over the repentance of the lost soul. Jesus didn’t make a mistake when He said that His disciples must Go!! Thanks to Wordsower Africa for sending us here in the most unreached churchless villages of Liberia.”
“We are moving again!!
Missions still ongoing!!
Frontline soldiers moving!!
Fearless soldiers moving!!
Wordsower, we move!!”
Our testimonies are beautiful examples of faith, love and sacrifice. They are numerous. At the bottom of our report will be additional testimonies for those who want to read more.

Additional Testimonies
“We are here in the Themne unreached churchless village of Patfu Manokoh making the gospel available to everyone. We preached the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ and then three Muslims were moved by the Holy Spirit to accept and confess Jesus as their Lord. We baptized them immediately.”
“We have great joy in sharing the precious gift among Muslims, the Spirit of God filled the people’s hearts with conviction.”
“It’s so, marvelous to see this team so zealous reaching the unreached churchless communities to preach Christ Jesus. There’s no fear because Christ said, he will be with us, until the end, and empower us with encouragement. Please, be in prayer with our team heading to the Kunya communities for three days of missions. Were led by the spirit, under God’s blessed protection.”
“With patience, vigilance, obedience and passion, we carry the gospel of Jesus Christ to the unreached. Our hearts are compelled for every lost soul to bring them to safe in to His Kingdom. Winning souls is the heartbeat of God.”
“A team of two went to an unreached small town of ten houses to project the Jesus film in Vai. On our arrival, we spoke with the town Chief and the Muslim Imam, and introduce ourselves and we told them our purpose. To God be the glory they accepted us wholeheartedly, but on one condition, we should wait for them after their 8 pm prayer. We agreed to wait. After their prayers, we projected the show, and explained some important parts of the show. A total of 65 person viewed the Jesus film. Among the 65 person, 6 confessed Jesus Christ, and willingly gave their names for baptism. By God’s grace we’ll baptize them today.”
