It’s Not Easy, On the Road

I love sharing our “road” experiences. This short 3.5-minute video is of our indigenous missionary team in Sierra Leone in route to teach a conference within an unreached tribe. They had been on the road all day and night. At 2:30 AM they had a flat tire on one of the bikes. The second bike left to get it fixed. It was daylight before their bike was fixed. Praise God, they made it in time, 8:00, to start the conference.

Testimony From One of our Interns

Wordsower Africa has an intern program. Typically, the interns will live with us for 7 months. They are true, “In the trenches, front line soldiers.” In this 6-minute video you will hear the testimony of Silas Motyka as he goes into drug houses evangelizing, discipling and baptizing. Our Lord is calling and raising up an army of new missionaries. Pray to see if our Lord wants you to be one. Contact me, Kim Smith, at kimlogansmith1957@gmail.com if you are interested in becoming an intern.

Testimony from our short-term team:

Short term teams visit for 2-3 weeks. This team, from Michigan, is daubing a church building we assisted in building. Wordsower Africa enters towns and villages to evangelize, disciple, raise up leaders and start a church. We assist the congregation as they build their church structure. Contact me, Kim Smith, at kimlogansmith1957@gmail.com if you are interested in joining us as a short-term missionary.

Testimonies from our indigenous missionaries sent into the unreached tribes:

Our base leaders’ testimonies have been slightly edited.

The Gospel entered Rolunk Village:

“Everybody everywhere needs to hear the gospel. We entered in the unreached churchless village of Rolunk, with the gospel, while the village was having a 40-day mourning because of the death of one of their elders. The village was filled with people from all over the region. We were taken to the village chief and the Iman. We presented ourselves and asked if we could show a big screen film in their language about Jesus and they agreed!!!

Rolunk Village has a big brown Mosque. We waited for the Muslims prayers to end before starting the film. 400 people viewed the film for the very first time. We believe that it was the spirit of God that led us to this village at this specific time. After the film, 67 persons confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. The next morning, we baptized 84 people. We meet under the mango tree in front of the house of one of the elderly persons in the church… Yesterday, we had a great church service, but many of the church members are refusing to attend church services due to lack of a specific place for worship. We pray that God will provide a suitable solution for our people because the rainy season has started. To God be the glory!!”

We’ve established a house church in the Kerefey Themne village:

“Kerefey Themne village is a churchless village of the unreached Themne tribe. It has almost 60 houses and close to 400 inhabitants. A large mosque is in the middle of the village.

We entered the village and asked the chief if we could show the Jesus film in their language on a big screen. The Chief told us that showing the Jesus film, in his village, was not necessary because they are all Muslims and didn’t need the film. But by the grace of God, we were able to convince him and some of the elders that it is a good thing to have two religions in the village so they can experience the power of Jesus Christ in their village as other surrounding villages have. After three hours of discussion, it was agreed that we could show the Jesus film. After the film, 26 people made confessions of faith and were baptized the next morning. Gradually, we are getting new members almost every church service. Abdullai, Mohamed and Gilbrilla are undergoing training to lead the house church, and are conducting regular morning devotions. We need your support and prayers to maintain the church and spread the gospel in the village of Kerefay Themne. We move as led by the spirit. Everybody everywhere needs to hear the gospel.”

A church established in Magbondeh

“Magbondeh is a boarder community with Liberia and Guinea. It is a Muslim dominated community. There was not a church in that whole community… 11 more souls were baptized today in the Magbondeh Village and one in Karfey Loko Village. Members contributed planks, Wordsower provided nails and purchased metal sheeting for the roof. The members where glad to contribute planks to make sure their tent will be raised. Abraham Thoronka was a devoted Muslim and wants to be trained as their pastor.”

One of our goals is to see churches start churches:

The Themne are an unreached tribe that one of our indigenous missionary teams has been assigned to. Maso is one of the Themne villages that we planted a church in last year and did a church roof for them. By the grace of God Maso community church congregation has outgrown their building and are using dirt bricks to enlarge it. Indeed, what God cannot do does not exist. Maso used to be a churchless unreached village a year ago. Recently, they sent 8 persons to our Wordsower Bible Institute for training. Those trained have returned and are going out to the nearby Churchless villages to evangelize, disciple and start churches. We are proud and in prayer with them, praying for the spirit of God to lead them. Bravo Maso village for a job well done!! We hope others will imitate you, in the name of Jesus Christ. Everybody everywhere needs to hear the gospel.
