The above report is made possible by a united sacrificial team here and abroad. Only in the unity of us all can the above be a reality and even increase.
The Corona virus has effected the world. We are not excluded. This month we produced 5,676 booklets on salvation and information about the virus. On our motorbikes we distributed them in 269 villages/towns/communities. Our county, Grand Gedeh, has been saturated. So, we have gone to the surrounding counties and beyond. Already the booklets we printed have been distributed and we have started printing more.
The Vai and Gola tribes are resistant unreached Muslim tribes in Grand Capemont County, Liberia. There are about 138,000 Vai in Liberia. Joshua Project estimates that there are approximately 2 Vai Christians per 10,000 Vai. The Gola has about 170,000 in Liberia and it is estimated that there are 8 per 10,000. We have an indigenous missionary team, that was established 15 months ago, within these tribes. In April, this team of 3 families on 3 motorbikes ministered in 46 towns, villages and communities. When they first went into these communities, most told them that they did not want Christians in their community, they rejected them and told not to return.
This we expected, after all, they are resistant unreached Muslim tribes. But, we were not disheartened because we know the scriptures; “The plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” Ps 33:11. We know His plans will be accomplished. And, we know His plans; “Repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations.” Lk 24:47. And, we see the proof that His plans will be accomplished; “I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb.” Rev 7:9. And, we know that we have been commanded to participate in His plans; “For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’” Acts 13:47. Therefore, we boldly advance, not disheartened, but filled with joy that we have been chosen to participate. “We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.” 1 Jn 1:3-4.
The phrase that we use often here is, “Just show up.” Our Lord has His Sovereign plan, and will reveal it to His obedient servants; “Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants.” Amos 3:7. It is exciting to know the scriptures, have faith in them and then to see them come to pass. We were rejected, so we sat still and waited upon the Lord. Sure enough, as promised, His plan was revealed. The Jesus Film!!! Every one of the villages that rejected us allowed us to show the Jesus Film. The excitement of the people to see a big screen show in their own village brought everyone out to experience it, this was unique, never had been done before. We met hard soil they met our Lord’s plow! The fruit was the discovery of individuals, future disciples, that our Lord was already preparing. After the Jesus film was shown all the villages invited us to return to show other movies of Jesus, and many even allowed us to come in and teach them the Bible. Next, we discovered their desire for Adult literacy. Every village that had rejected us has now invited us to teach literacy to the adults. We told them that we would also teach the Bible, everyone accepted. Now, what’s new? The Corona virus! There is no one going to them to teach the truth about the virus. Today, again, all are inviting us to teach them about the virus. And, of course, they will also hear of a salvation, through Christ, that will give them a place with Him for eternity. After all, Revelations 9:20 tells us that the purpose of a plague is to bring repentance, but how can they repent if no one goes to them? Many former Muslims have come to Christ, been baptized and are now being discipled. Ahh, the joy of it all. The cost of having this fruitful indigenous team living within these two tribes, bringing them the gospel, discipling, baptizing, starting cell fellowships and attacking the kingdom of Satan is about $1,400 a month.
Now the bad news, we grieve, because there are 4 other such tribes unreached in Liberia. We have two trained, willing teams, we have spied out the land and have found that another great harvest is waiting. Participate with us in His sovereign plans. Join us. Experience the joy.
- Praise: We have the favor of the government officials. As long lines of vehicles wait and are denied county border crossing we go to the front of the line and are allowed to cross without delay
- Praise: Because of the great financial crisis of America we prayed that our donations would not decrease. Praise God there was no reduction of donations!!!
- Pray: For our team in Ivory Coast. The church there is so corrupt, cold and hard hearted. Also, they have 36 unreached tribes of 7 million.
- Pray: Please pray for our safety as we will continue to boldly and fearlessly march into and live within the strongholds of Satan to, “snatch others from the fire and save them.” Jude 1:23.
- Pray: For increased donations. We have an indigenous missionary team ministering in 2 of the unreached tribes of Liberia. We have 4 more unreached tribes that need indigenous teams to go to them. Our neighbors, Sierra Leone and Guinea, are asking us to start this ministry in their country also.
