Wordsower Trained Disciples’ Testimonies

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

Our Lord unites us with those He has prepared. These below are testimonies of two our Lord united us with:

Christian Harris’ Testimony:
In the 1990 Liberian war the rebels came into our town shooting and killing as many as they could. I was about 5 years old and ran into the bush alone, hungry and scared. I was lost from everyone. The Red Cross found me hiding in the bush. They gave me to the UN and the UN sent me to a refugee camp in Ivory Coast. I was assigned to a family there. I stayed with them until, I guess, I was 10. At that time, I left my assigned family to try to find my own people. I met other refugee street boys and lived with them, sleeping on market tables at night and trying to hustle food during the day. I stayed with them for 5-6 years. A white lady found me and let me move into her orphanage. I stayed there another 5-6 years. While in the orphanage I was trained as a mechanic. But went back to the street, that I knew, because I wasn’t treated well in the mechanic training. From the age of 5 my only desire had been to find my family. I traveled to Liberia to the region where I came from and found my sister. I also met Doris, my wife. I got into trouble and was sent to prison in Zwedru, Liberia. While in prison, WSA disciples kept coming to preach and teach. I became a Christian in the prison. When I was released, I reunited with Doris and started attending WSA trainings. I would assist them as a bike mechanic. Now today, I am employed as their chief bike mechanic. I have been employed with them for 9 years. I properly married Doris in 2000. I also go on missions, disciple and assist in starting churches.
Before coming to Christ and WSA I had no hope and only knew hardship, loneliness, homelessness, hunger and suffering. I never went far in school. Today, I have a home, children, a full-time job with WSA and am being used by God to do His work. I am now happy and content. I’m thankful to God to be in the position I am.

Aaron Dweh Testimony – The Tenacles of Poverty:
We first met Aaron Gaye Dweh on July 27, 2009, just a few months after we had started WSA. Back then we walked from village to village, because we had not acquired our first motorbike yet. We had walked for nearly three hours when we came across Gambo Town. Gambo was without a church.
Aaron was once a Liberian refugee in Ivory Coast and Ghana. He traveled to Algeria seeking better opportunity. According to Aaron, the Lord’s message was clear to him. He was to return to Liberia, go back to his native home town to settle. Upon his return to his native town, Gambo, he started praying in his house, asking our Lord to help him start a church. God answered his prayer by sending us, a Wordsower mission team, right to his front door. In our unity a church was born. The Gambo Town church, Aaron pastored, hosted some visiting mission guests from America.      According to his father, Aaron was sick for two days. On Sunday he complained of weakness and went to Zwedru for a checkup at the hospital. The hospital could find nothing wrong and released him. He went home and within hours was unconscious. The family, again, rushed him back to the hospital for further examination. Unfortunately, he died on the lap of his boy. He was 35 years old. Life is fragile. Death is inevitable but it hurts, society, family and friends. Liberia’s poverty creates great suffering. I imagine that if he were in America, he would be alive today. We grieve at the loss of this faithful, sacrificial, suffering disciple of Christ. He has left us so soon, too soon.

Assisting in the construction of church buildings for new congregations

It is best that new congregations unite to construct their own church building. But we encourage by assisting. Typically, we will give $500-$700 and send a team to help. Often, until they have a building, they will meet under the trees or in abandoned buildings in the community. Most often we put up the roof and later they will put up the doors and walls. In the pictures below you will see a church meeting under the trees. Another, they have outgrown their little building and are looking for assistance to put up a larger more permanent building. The next two; we put up the roof and, for now, they have tarps for the walls. Last, here is a church building under construction with dirt brick and dirt for mortar.

Wordsower Bible Institute School

“For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.” Romans 10:2

Most of the Christians of West Africa have a great zeal for God but not the knowledge. The result is false teaching, confusion, emotionalism and a falling away. Our Bible Institute provides much needed biblical knowledge. It is available for the young, old, literate and illiterate. The video below is of our Level 5 class. In it you will see two interns, Jacob Holm and Silas Motyka, that stayed with us for 10 months of missionary training. The video is less than 3-minute long.

Testimonies from our indigenous missionaries sent into the unreached tribes:

(Our base leaders’ testimonies have been slightly edited.)
We are experiencing a great move of the Holy Spirit! These testimonies come from tribes that have been unreached for thousands of years, from communities that have never had a church.

“No fear, no cause to worry. We are being sent to the right place at the right time to do the right thing for the right people. Salvation that Christ offers is the only hope.

Having spent the last two days showing the film about Jesus Christ to a churchless town of an unreached tribe, I am filled with gratitude and awe at what God has done. As we gathered, I could sense both curiosity and apprehension among the people. They had never seen or heard the story of Jesus Christ before. Yet, as the “PASSION OF CHRIST film unfolded, we witnessed hearts beginning to stir. In John 12:32, Jesus said, “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” We could feel His presence drawing them in.

Many were captivated by the love and sacrifice of Christ portrayed in the “PASSION OF CHRIST” on our big screen. We saw tears in the eyes of Muslims as they began to understand the depth of Christ’s love. The scene of Jesus Christ suffering resonated deeply, and for some, it ignited a spark of hope, a hope they had never known before. As they watched we prayed. Many Muslims expressed a desire to follow Jesus, after viewing the show. They realized that they, too, could be part of the family of God.

As I reflect on these two days, I am reminded of the beauty of sharing the gospel. It is a privilege to be a witness to how the Good News can change lives. I urge all of us, as Wordsower Africa missionaries, to continue spreading His message. We are called to “go and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19). Thank you for your prayers and support. Together, we can reach many more with the love of Christ.”

“Folks of the Lord, from viewing last night’s Jesus film, people gave their lives to Christ Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord. A lady, who initiated girls in their society bush, gave her life to Christ Jesus. [The society bush is the place where their demonic religion has their altar for worship. They scar the children physically, mentally and spiritually. Often, they will do female circumcision] She promised that she would never be part of the initiation again in the society bush. She was even sacred to be baptized, afraid she would die because she was leaving the demon life. But with encouragement from our team, she said she would be baptized and that never again would she step her feet in the society bush. Also, a 75-year-old man gave his life to Christ. He was in fear. He said the demons would not allow him to touch creek water. From one thing to another we encouraged him. He said he would be baptized and had the faith that Christ will save him. Please be in prayer with the old man and the lady.

Our good people, in the Lord, continued their mission after these baptisms. They went to the next community to show the Jesus film. Everyone everywhere needs the gospel and we make it available.”

“Good morning fellow soldiers. We are now located in the heart of the unreached churchless, demonic secret society and Islamic dominant regions of the Kuranko tribe. We are specifically in a village called Foronaya. We showed the Jesus film in the local language of Kuranko. The chief Imam/sheikh confessed that he was very glad to see Jesus Christ for the first time. He also said, several times that he read about Jesus Christ in the Quran, therefore seeing Jesus is a great thing in his Life. We pray that our Lord will convert him as soon as possible. Indeed, the harvest is plentiful. Wordsower, we move!!!”

“We traveled to one of the unreached churchless communities, called Magaloma, that was founded by a warrior. Many people were in fear of this town. It is located in the mountains and is a 2-hour hard climb. The town has been denying Christ for generations. We taught a conference and about 80% of the town attended. For them to accept Christ Jesus, this year, is a miraculous wonder. The great town warrior’s descendants are now accepting Christ Jesus! To God be the glory!!!” The video is just over 1-minute long. The quality isn’t good. The recordings were made on a low-quality personal phone. It begins with a hard trek up the mountain and ends with the faces of our team reveling in joy and satisfaction!

“Performing our duties is the main target of Wordsower Africa missionaries. We do not get tired, and we should always be on our feet to reach the unreached churchless communities. We don’t procrastinate. We need to go to the people that they may confess Christ. The Bible says, my people are perishing because they are lacking knowledge.

Folks of the Lord, please be in prayer with, Brother Daniel F. Sesay who is now heading to what was once an unreached churchless community. He is bringing construction supplies for their church roof. Go! Soldier of the Lord, you are protected by Christ. Wordsower, we move!!!”

These are just a sampling from a multitude of testimonies I receive every month!

Participate with us in praise and prayer:

Pray: In three weeks, we have had 4 deaths of those, or their family, who are united with us. Most of them were not old and left behind young children. There is much suffering in this poor third world country
Praise: Our second base in Sierra Leone is now open and in operation. It is our 7th indigenous mission base and is assigned to 3 unreached tribes.
Praise: Churchless towns of unreached tribes are begging for us to come. There is an avalanche of requests!
Pray: For increased donations so that we may continue to advance into unreached tribes
Pray: For our indigenous missionary teams, that they will continue to fearlessly, boldly, and sacrificially advance the gospel
Pray: For us, as we march into and live within the strongholds of Satan to, “snatch others from the fire and save them.” Jude 1:23
Pray: “Finally, our friends, pray for us that the Lord’s message may continue to spread rapidly and be received with honor, just as it was among you. Pray also that God will rescue us from wicked and evil people; for not everyone believes the message.” 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2
